vReel video archiver

This is how I have described my web app code project vReel:
vReel (available on GitHub): a NodeJS video archiving tool built with Preact: upload the videos on your hard drive, view them, and get perma-links on your local computer for each file and a JSON file with all the metadata.
In building vReel I wanted both to create a web-tech video archiving tool, and also explore several problem domains likely to come up in building future JavaScript apps. Here are some of the challenges that were overcome in order to get vReel where it is (v0.9.10):
